Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused an unprecedented disruption to the global tourism industry, leading to significant declines in international travel, revenue losses, and structural changes in tourism demand. This paper examines recovery strategies adopted by tourism destinations and stakeholders in the post-pandemic period, with a focus on resilience, adaptability, and long-term sustainability. By analyzing global policy responses, digital transformation trends, and evolving traveler behavior, the study proposes a strategic framework for building resilient tourism systems. The findings highlight the importance of diversification, digital innovation, crisis preparedness, and governance in ensuring sustainable recovery. The paper contributes to tourism management literature by offering a comprehensive model for adaptive tourism systems in the face of global shocks.
