Abstract

In contemporary digital communication, extremist texts increasingly incorporate dialectal and non-standard language elements as a strategic tool of influence. This paper examines the use of dialectal vocabulary in extremist discourse from a linguistic-expert perspective. Dialectal elements are analyzed as markers of group identity, proximity to the target audience, and manipulation of trust. The study argues that such linguistic choices are not accidental but serve pragmatic goals, including strengthening the “us vs. them” opposition, reducing communicative distance, and masking radical ideology under the guise of everyday speech. Particular attention is paid to the role of dialectal features in author identification (authorship attribution), as their systematic and repetitive use may indicate regional background, social environment, and stable linguistic habits of the author. The paper emphasizes that dialectal usage alone does not constitute extremism; rather, its evaluative significance emerges only in interaction with communicative intent, discourse context, and ideological content. The findings contribute to forensic linguistic expertise and extremist text analysis by highlighting dialectal markers as auxiliary but significant indicators in expert assessment.
