CYBERCRIME AND HUMAN RIGHTS: EMERGING CHALLENGES IN THE DIGITAL ERA

The rapid development of digital technologies has transformed modern society, creating new opportunities for communication, commerce, and governance. However, this transformation has also led to the emergence of cybercrime as a significant global threat. Cybercrime not only affects economic stability but also poses serious risks to fundamental human rights, including privacy, freedom of expression, and access to information. This article examines the relationship between cybercrime and human rights, analyzes the main types of cyber offenses, and evaluates the legal and institutional challenges faced by states in combating cyber threats while protecting human rights. The paper concludes with recommendations aimed at strengthening international cooperation, improving legal frameworks, and ensuring a balanced approach between cybersecurity and human rights protection.
