Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical foundations, principles, and practical significance of teaching English using the communicative approach. The main goal of the communicative approach is to develop learners’ ability to use the language freely and appropriately in real-life situations. The article discusses the historical development of the method, its core principles, differences from traditional approaches, classroom techniques, as well as its advantages and limitations, based on scholarly sources. Additionally, the impact of this approach on learners’ communicative competence, independent thinking, and motivation is examined.
