GERMANY AND UZBEKISTAN: ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS AND EARLY COOPERATION (1991–1995)
Abstract
The period from 1991 to 1995 marks the foundational phase of German-Uzbek relations, during which the two states rapidly established diplomatic ties and built the legal and institutional framework that would support their partnership for decades to come. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, both Germany and Uzbekistan found themselves navigating entirely new geopolitical realities.
