Mikroorganizmlarda genetik parazitizm hujayra darajasidagi genetik munosabatlarning muhim shakli bo‘lib, viruslar, bakteriofaglar, plazmidlar, transpozonlar va boshqa mobil genetik elementlarning mezbon organizm resurslari hisobiga mavjud bo‘lishi va ko‘payishini ifodalaydi. Ushbu ishda genetik parazitizmning nazariy asoslari, kelib chiqish sabablari, molekulyar mexanizmlari, biologik tizimlarga ta’siri hamda evolyutsion ahamiyati keng qamrovda yoritilgan. Shuningdek, genetik parazitizmning mikroorganizmlar moslashuvchanligi va genetik xilma-xillikni shakllantirishdagi roli ilmiy manbalar asosida tahlil qilingan.
