Abstract

Translation is not only a linguistic operation but also a complex intercultural process in which implicit meanings, social norms, and communicative intentions must be transferred between languages. This article examines the role of intercultural pragmatics in translation and analyzes methodological strategies for teaching pragmatic competence in translator education. The study argues that successful translation depends on the translator’s ability to interpret context-bound meaning rather than merely reproduce lexical equivalence. Emphasis is placed on discourse awareness, cultural mediation, and context-sensitive decision-making as core components of modern translation pedagogy.
