Mazkur maqolada apoptoz - hujayralarning dasturlashtirilgan o‘limi jarayoni va uning buzilishi natijasida onkogenez rivojlanishining molekulyar-biologik mexanizmlari zamonaviy ilmiy ma’lumotlar asosida tahlil qilingan. Apoptozning ichki (mitoxondrial) va tashqi (o‘lim reseptorlari vositasidagi) yo‘llari, kaspazalar kaskadi, Bcl-2 oilasi oqsillari va p53 supressor genining hujayra hayot siklini boshqarishdagi roli yoritilgan. Shuningdek, apoptoz jarayonining susayishi yoki bloklanishi natijasida hujayralarning nazoratsiz ko‘payishi, genetik barqarorlikning buzilishi va o‘sma hujayralarining “immortallik” xususiyatini egallashi kabi holatlar muhokama qilingan. Tadqiqot natijalari apoptozning buzilishi saraton rivojlanishining muhim patogenetik omillaridan biri ekanligini ko‘rsatadi.
